SEIA has a variety of initiatives designed to facilitate industry organization and promote education and outreach to relevant legal, financial, development and other stakeholders. Our goal is to improve comprehension, ease financing complexity, and spur capital formation and project development.
SEIA convenes several committees and working groups to facilitate those goals. SEIA also organizes conferences, webinars and other forum for stakeholder engagement and industry participation.
Committees and Working Groups
Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Working Group – designed to facilitate deployment in the C&I sector (including municipal and non-profit offtakers) through, among other things, improvement and expansion of SEIA’s model contract suite (available here), facilitating communication and collaboration with the commercial real estate sector to explain the value proposition of solar, and expanding access to financing innovations such as PACE. Tax and Accounting Committee – discusses pressing tax issues on Capitol Hill and in the Administration. The group is comprised of leading tax attorneys and consultants in the country as well as our member companies’ tax experts. Contact Erin Duncan to learn more and/or participate.
Quality Assurance Working Group – seeks to evaluate, develop and encourage adoption of industry best practices in solar asset design, production estimate, installation, commissioning and O&M, and contractor qualification. The group’s activities are intended to facilitate high-quality solar installations that induce consumer and investor confidence across the industry.
